OTHER MUSICAL HAPPENINGS...

SUNRIVER MUSIC FESTIVAL | August 2–13, 2025
Join us August 2-13 in Bend & Sunriver for the Festival’s 48th Season! Led by Artistic Director & Conductor Brett Mitchell, the season features the Festival Orchestra with world-class soloists, music education events, masterclasses and more. The Summer Festival opens August 2 at the iconic Tower Theatre in downtown Bend and closes August 13 at Sunriver Resort’s historic Great Hall. Four classical concerts, one pops concert, a brilliant solo piano recital and a Family Concert will be presented. Featured artists include pianist Stewart Goodyear, cellist Mark Kosower, Festival concertmaster/violinist Yi Zhao and Vitaly Starikov, 2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Silver Medalist. The Festival season also features music education events and masterclasses. Many orchestra rehearsals are free and open to the public. TICKETS & INFO HERE

MORE SUMMER CHOIR DETAILS

  • Music will be handed out each week at the beginning of the session. Plan to arrive up to 30 minutes early to pick up music and get ready to sing! (It's ok if you can't get there early...we'll have volunteers to help throughout the rehearsal.)
  • At the end of each weekly session, music will be handed back in.
  • During the session, we'll warmup together, divide into vocal sections, then work on a few different songs each week (some with printed music, some with lyrics only, some by rote).
  • The "concert" on August 17 is more of a "show and tell" for our family and friends. Space will be very limited, and tickets (free) may be required. More details to come...
  • There are no attendance requirements. We will check you in at your first rehearsal, but we won't take attendance each week. And you do not need to report absences. This is all about having fun, so just come to as many sessions as you can!

LOCATION
We'll meet in St. Helens Hall at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Bend. (St. Helens is not the historic Trinity Sanctuary, but the newer building at the corner of NW Broadway St and NW St Helens Pl.)

PARKING
Plan ahead! With other community meetings at the church and nearby, parking can be a challenge! There is limited parking on the streets around the church, so you may need to park on Wall Street, near the Deschutes Historical Museum, on Bond St, etc.
